Church of the Holy Spirit Plattsmouth, Nebraska CCD classes will be held for 1st through 8th grade students on Sunday mornings from 9:00 to 10:20 a.m starting in September.
The first day of CCD is September 10, 2023.
The health and safety of our students and staff are a priority. We follow school policies on health and wellness. Please do not send your child if they are sick.
Please ensure we have an email address that you check frequently. CCD staff will communicate information to parents via email. New this year, we have a dedicated CCD email address: [email protected].
While we try to monitor email, please remember that we are volunteers; please be considerate and also expect some delay in our response. We encourage you to stop in to speak with priests and volunteers on Sundays if you have questions. For immediate needs, please reach out via cell numbers shown below. In the event of closing due to inclement weather, sickness or other matters, you will be contacted via email no later than 7:30 a.m. the Sunday the closed session was to be held.
VOLUNTEERS
We need new volunteers. Please reach out to Fr. Timmerman or [email protected] to discuss opportunities to get more involved. We appreciate our current volunteers and welcome coordinators, co-teachers, teaching assistants and substitute teachers.
REGISTRATION
All families must be registered with the Church of Holy Spirit parish. Please contact Sue in the church office at 402-296-3139 for further information and to register your family.
We encourage families to attend Mass and read the bulletin for various church announcements. Mass Times are Saturday Nights at 4:00 pm and Sunday Mornings at 8:00 am and 10:30 am unless otherwise noted in the bulletin.
Registration. Please register your returning student(s) by emailing the student’s name, grade levels, and any changes to guardians’ contact information to [email protected].
Please register your new student(s) to the program by emailing the student’s name, grade levels, guardians’ email and cell phone number, and evidence (i.e. picture of certificates) of any Catholic Sacraments (Baptism, First Communion, First Confession and/or Confirmation) previously received by the student [email protected].
Fees are $65.00 per student and are used for costs such as program, building, books and supplies for the program. Students will receive a workbook and/or sacrament materials to work in during class. Please make out check to Church of the Holy Spirit for these registration fees and bring to our first session.
SACRAMENTS
Our program prepares 2nd grade students (and older as needed) to receive the Sacraments of First Penance and First Communion. Please see attached calendar for the expected dates of these Sacraments. We also prepare students (5th-6th grade students and older as needed) for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Our next Confirmation date is expected to be in the Spring of 2025 (not this current program year). Please note that students are expected to attend religious education each year as we build for all Sacraments. We will provide additional information to these parents and students throughout the year. Parents may work with Fr. Timmerman if your student needs to be Baptized or you feel another acceptable timeline for Sacraments is best for your student.
