2021-2022 CCD SCHEDULE
Church of the Holy Spirit Plattsmouth, Nebraska
CCD classes will be held for 1st through 8th grade students on Sunday mornings from 9:00 to 10:20 a.m starting September 12, 2021.
The first day of CCD is September 12, 2021.
The health and safety of our students and staff are a priority. We follow school policies on health and wellness, including upd•ated polices related to COVID-19.
- Notable symptoms of COVID-19 include a fever of 100.4 or greater, chills, cough or shortness of breath, sore throat, fatigue, headache, muscle or body aches, loss of taste or smell, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. Do not report to CCD with any of the above symptoms and/or if you have been around someone with COVID-19, been diagnosed with COVID-19, been asked to self-quarantine at home by your public school, doctor or a health official or traveled outside of the country.
- Students should be dropped off and picked up at the front of St. John’s school. No parents or guests will be allowed in St. John’s school. Please maintain proper physical distancing at drop off and pick up.
- Students and staff will hand sanitize upon entering St. John’s building. Cleaning and sanitizing procedures will be employed. We are not requiring students and staff to wear masks at this time. Should that change, we will alert you. Students will be social distanced as much as possible.
- Please encourage your student to use the restroom before coming to CCD.
Please ensure we have an email address that you check frequently. CCD staff will communicate information to parents via email. New this year, we have a dedicated CCD email address: [email protected]
Please note that most CCD administrative matters are handled on Sunday. While we try to monitor email, please expect some delay in responses. For immediate needs, please text Pam’s cell. In the event of closing due to inclement weather, COVID-19 or other matters you will be contacted via email no later than 7:30 a.m. the Sunday the closed session was to be held.
Fees are $65.00 per student and are used to costs such as program, building, books and supplies for the CCD Program. Students will receive a workbook and/or sacrament materials to work in during class. Please send registration fees with your students our first CCD session.
Our CCD program prepares 2nd grade students to receive the Sacraments of First Penance and First Communion. We typically have the Sacrament of Confirmation at CHS every 2-3 years for our 5th-7th graders. We currently do not expect Confirmation to be offered in the current year, but the Diocese is still ironing out the post-Covid Confirmation schedules. Parents may work with CCD Staff and Fr. Houlihan if parents feel another acceptable timeline for Sacraments is best for your student.
We encourage families to attend Mass as a family and read the bulletin for various church announcements. Mass Times for the CCD Session are available on Saturday Nights at 5:00 p.m., Sunday Mornings at 8:00 a.m. before CCD, Sunday Morning at 10:30 a.m. after CCD unless otherwise noted in the bulletin.
