Children’s Choir Registration Now Open!

Registration is now open for the Church of the Holy Spirit Children’s Choir. This is a great opportunity for your child to participate in the liturgy at Church of the Holy Spirit. Participating in our parish music ministry is a beautiful way to share our God-given talents with others. By leading the music at Mass, we help bring people closer to the Lord. Not only is the music itself powerful in helping to convert hearts and souls, but so are your children as they make it happen!

Details:
• Children’s choir is open to all 3rd-8th grade children in the parish.
• Choir practices will be held on Monday from 3:15-4:00 PM
• The choir will sing at Parish Masses throughout the year. A complete schedule will be distributed prior to the first rehearsal.
• First rehearsal is Monday, September 16th

For the benefit of ALL – We want all to be prepared and comfortable leading the music at Mass, and without practice they will not be. We will take attendance at practice. Members who are frequently absent from practice will be asked to sit with their family for Mass. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

If your child is interested in singing with this choir, please CLICK HERE to register.

“We are extremely grateful for the generous contributions and donations from the community and appreciate the ongoing support from the Knights of Columbus and our Parish’s PCCW organization,” said St. John’s Principal Linda Monahan.

Parish Announces New Youth Ministry Program

Attention High School Youth and Parents:

Come  learn about the Parish’s exciting new Youth Ministry Group, during an informational meeting this Saturday, August 3rd, following the 5 p.m. Mass.

This is a great opportunity to meet our Youth Ministry Coordinator and learn about the program and some of its activities and events planned to help the youth lead Catholic lives, grow in their relationship with God, while also having fun with their peers!

Hope to see you there!

Meet Our New Youth Ministry Coordinator

“Hello! My name is Kaseandra Martinez, but I go by Cassie. Originally from Nebraska City, I’m 19 years old and graduated from Lourdes Central Catholic in 2018. I attended Benedictine college last year but will be transferring to UNL this semester. My major is in Psychology/ Biology and I plan on becoming a neuropsychologist.

This past summer I had the opportunity to be a missionary for Totus Tuus and travel all around Nebraska. I spent my first week in Plattsmouth and I fell in love with The Church of the Holy Spirit. This experience, and The Lord’s calling, is what led me here today. God directed me here, to the Plattsmouth community.

I’m so excited to be the Youth Ministry Coordinator for the Parish and I look forward to serving our youth — and getting them more involved with the diocese and helping them grow closer in their relationship with God.

Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your Parish! I can’t wait to get to know all of you!”
