St. John the Baptist Athletics is excited to announce that registration for the Summer Youth Volleyball Clinic is now open. Clinic sessions are scheduled for July 23-25 and are open to all girls entering 1st – 8th grades. The clinic is open to the community.

The three-day clinic has been divided into two age-appropriate session times:
• 1st – 4th Grade: 8:30 – 10 a.m.
• 5th – 8th Grade: 10:30 – Noon

The cost to attend the clinic is $30 per person and includes a t-shirt. The clinic is led by certified volleyball instructor Joy Scanlan and will introduce the girls to fundamental areas of the game in a fun and exciting environment.

The Knights of Columbus presents the second annual St. John the Baptist Golf Classic on Saturday, June 15th, 12 noon at Bay Hills Golf Course in Plattsmouth. A dinner will immediately follow the golf tournament held in St. John the Baptist School school gymnasium.

The cost of the golf tournament is $80/per golfer and includes a delicious steak dinner. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams, plus golfers have a chance at winning flag/pin and raffle drawings prizes. Non-golfers can still be part of the fun by attending the just the dinner ($20/per meal).

Sponsorship opportunities are available at the following levels:  Hole Sponsor, $125; Corporate Sponsor – $400; and Principal Event Sponsor – $1,000. We are also looking for in-kind donations (gift cards, products or services) that could be used as pin prizes or the raffle drawing prizes.

The “May Crowning” is a Catholic tradition that occurs in the month of May. We hope you will give Mary a special spot in your prayers this month.

Whether you attended the event, donated an auction item, gave a monetary gift, volunteered on a committee or worked at the event — you played an important role in the sustainability efforts of our church/school.

Each year, this generous support from community helps us to ensure we are growing in our faith and love for Jesus and service to others.

One way to serve God and our parish is to be on the Parish Council. The candidates should be dedicated to the welfare and spirituality of our Parish. All applications must be turned in by April 15. St. John’s School Advisory Council (SAC) is currently taking nominations to fill 4 open positions: Two with a 2-year term and two with a 3-year term. To be eligible, a candidate must be an adult over 18, who is in agreement with the mission of the Parish and School, and have a genuine commitment to Catholic school education.
